Therapies During Difficult Times
The future holds many unknowns and healing solutions like Reiki and Hypnotherapy help to keep us emotionally, physically and mentally strong and healthy and help us in sustaining ourselves. These are unprecedented times since there is no reference which we can use so Faith is required to keep us going and not giving up. Stress is related to finances, jobs, businesses, education, health and there is not much we can actually do but get out of this situation whole- emotionally, physically and mentally.
Hypnotherapy is a type of alternative medicine in which hypnosis is used to create a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility during which positive suggestions and guided imagery are used to help individuals deal with a variety of concerns and issues.
Hypnotherapy uses the power of suggestion to bring about positive change in clients or patients who are under hypnosis. A hypnotherapist will meet with a client before performing hypnosis and discuss medical history, ailments and goals for treatment. Because a client’s subconscious mind is more open to suggestions from a hypnotherapist, they are more likely to accept a therapist’s words and advice during the hypnotherapy session, which can be the catalyst for positive change.
Hypnotherapy is often used as part of a treatment plan for phobias and other anxiety disorders. Hypnotherapy has been proven to help treat a number of physical, medical and mental health disorders and diseases.
Hypnotherapy has been proven to treat or help with:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Pain management
- Stress
- Phobias (intense fears)
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Addictions
- Bad habits
- Sports performance
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
- Weight Loss
- Allergies
- Self esteem and confidence
The connection between mind and body is a scientifically established fact now. It is an agreed fact that diseases are psychosomatic, i.e. they are mostly caused by our thoughts and emotions. Every thought we have, echoes in our body. When the mind has positive thoughts, our Immunity increases and the body finds it easier to be healthy.
Hypnotherapy has no side effects. Upon healing the clients can be further empowered with self-help, self-care tools like self-hypnosis and positive affirmations. Hypnotherapy works on the principle that Mind creates all types and levels of illnesses; even the most feared illnesses or diseases are products of mind. “Diseases” or “Dis-ease” is when the body loses its natural balance and is not at ease. This loss of balance occurs at any one or combinations of the following four levels:
- -Thought or Causal body
- – Emotion or Astral Body
- – Aura/ Chakras or Energy Body
- – Physical Body
Imbalances that begin at “Thought Level”, if left unattended, can filter down to emotion, further to aura and finally to the level of various organs in the physical body and vice versa. Hypnotherapy heals a person simultaneously at all four levels. It helps people to understand and eradicate the root cause of their issues and empower them to heal their present life. When the “Dis-ease” is at the level of the mind, it is easier to reverse than when it reaches the physical body level.
Stress is the main cause of most of the mind and body issues. Through hypnotherapy one can learn to “empty the stress vessel every day”.
During hypnotherapy, you remain in control. It is not possible for anyone to force you to do anything against your will, even under hypnosis. You will always be in charge of your own actions, behaviors, and statements.
In the hypnotic state, you are deeply relaxed. Your conscious mind is quieted, allowing your unconscious mind to deeply focus on your issue (in this case, your phobia). You are also calmer, and therefore more receptive to facing your fear.
A hypnotherapist may make gentle suggestions for behavior changes that can help you conquer your phobia.
Research suggests that hypnosis may provide a wide range of benefits for a multitude of psychological, physical, and behavioral issues and conditions.
This form of therapy is considered alternative medicine with the purpose of utilizing one’s mind to help reduce or alleviate a variety of issues, such as psychological distress, phobias, and unhealthy, destructive, or dangerous habits (i.e. smoking and/or drinking). The aim of hypnotherapy is to create a positive change in an individual, while he/she is in a state of unconsciousness or slumber (sleep).
Effect of Positive Affirmations
It is often said, “Change your thoughts, and change your life”. It is possible to fill the mind with positive thoughts by using positive affirmations. Repeating these affirmations over and over impresses the subconscious mind to such a degree that it slowly starts transforming the body to align with these thoughts. Positive affirmations for health can have only positive effects on the body. Take a few breaths and clear your mind of all distractions. When you read these affirmations, really feel the meaning of each word. Let it speak to you deeply and intimately. Say each line until you feel the solidity in your bones. Repeat each sentence out loud.
Some affirmations:
MY BODY IS STRONG TO FIGHT ANY FOREIGN BODY.
MY IMMUNE SYSTEM IS STRONG AND DEFENSIVE.
I ENJOY PERFECT HEALTH.
I LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE.
I AM GETTING BETTER WITH EVERY PASSING MOMENT.
I ALWAYS CHOOSE OPTIONS THAT ARE BEST FOR MY HEALTH.
Start using any one affirmation, or make your own and say it yourself for 21 days till it becomes a part of you. An affirmation / suggestion can be introduced during a session too.
